CHCS Celebrates Diversity!
At first glance, you might not think CHCS is a diverse school...until you look a little closer and really get to know the people around you.
6th graders participated in a classroom counseling lesson on the subject of Stereotyping and how it impacts their lives:

The 2nd clip from this lesson; Chevrolet's "Truck Guy Focus Group" Commercial is a perfect example of how stereotyping is used in the media as a marketing tool.
No one can shut the door on your potential except you.
Here are some people who refused to allow adversity, negative attitudes, and other people's assumptions about them dictate what they can and cannot do!
-Jessica Cox was born without arms. She learned to overcome obstacles in life through determination, creativity, positivity, and self-confidence. She is the first licensed armless pilot in the world, as well as the first armless black-belt in the American Taekwondo Association. You can view her flying a plane in an additional clip HERE.
